Barking

Debbie Tayler

When a dog barks, he is trying to communicate something. The bark may be because the dog is anxious, excited, bored, scared, etc. It is important to discover the CAUSE of the barking in order to be able to address the problem. In my own dog's case, he was barking because of excess energy and boredom. He is a very high energy dog and the 3 - 4 miles of daily, off leash running, was not enough to satisfy his physical requirements. I purchased a treadmill which he uses daily for roughly 30 minutes. The treadmill has helped dial down his barking immensely.
